Kelo wood comes from centuries-old, naturally dried polar pines. Kelo is characterized by its silvery-gray surface and the reddish-colored, extremely hard heartwood, which results from slow growth in cold regions. This rare and valuable material creates a soft, cozy atmosphere and makes a sauna truly special. The Kelo logs used to build the sauna house at THERME Bad Wörishofen are 30-35 cm in diameter, 200-250 years old, and come from the vast boreal forests of Finland and Russia. If you look closely, you can see the many narrow annual rings!

Therefore, we have decided not to install these systems and instead clean the floors daily with disinfectants. To ensure optimal foot hygiene, you should also wear swimming shoes.
